The 100/1000 initiative was an idea of Dr. Ronald Clarke. He presented it to Henry Inniss (President of the LSOSA Barbados). This idea was subsequently introduced to Dr. Anton Reece and the LSOSA International Board.
OBJECTIVE: The objective as indicated in the title is to raise $100,000.00 from 100 donors who ideally would be former students of The Lodge School. In 2022, The International Board voted and approved the recommendation as an official project and it was launched.
FOCUS: The focus of the initiative is to benefit current students through four primary channels: Education, Sports, Music, Social Services.
DONATION OPTIONS: Donors have the ability to select any combination of channels to which to direct their contributions. Donors, if they choose to do so may remain anonymous.
The Lodge School Old Scholars’ Association – International has filed to become a 501(C)3 Charitable organization in the United States, which when approved will allow donors to claim the tax benefit. As of September 2025, the application is still under review by the Federal Government.
SCHOOL BENEFITS: The International Board with recommendations from the school board will select the appropriate amount, time and items to donate to the school.
As of September 2025, approximately $12,000.00 USD has been raised. In August 2024 at the LSOSA International Reunion held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Dr. Anton Reece (President LSOSA-International) presented a $5,000.00 USD check to Mr. Henry Inniss (President TLSAA) who accepted on behalf of The Lodge School.
The funds were used to purchase several items including:
Laptop Computers
Printers
Girls Soccer uniforms,
Guitars
Soccer Balls
Volley Balls
Basketballs and other sports equipment
Packaged Food & Drink supplies SEAP donation among others
and shipped to Barbados.
Additional details and photos may be located in the gallery on the alumni association’s website.
The remaining balance is maintained in a specifically earmarked account for 100/1000 donations at Chase Bank USA in an interest-bearing account. This remains an important and ongoing project to raise funds to benefit the students. Periodic updates will be made here, on the website, to provide full transparency on the project’s progress on the way to the stated goal of $100,000.00. Stay tuned.
